Seasonal Childcare Program (SCC)
Through a contract with the Department of Early Learning, the Northwest
Community Action Center is providing the Seasonal Childcare Program in the
cities and towns of lower Yakima County.
The Seasonal Childcare Program was created to assist families that are working in agricultural related work by providing childcare services.
The SCC was designed to keep children from being exposed to hot and cold weather, pesticides in the field and orchards and also from open irrigation canals and or equipment/ machinery.
When eligible, the family chooses a licensed provider who will care for the children. Client are also made responsible for a co-payment towards the provider, this co-pay amount will depend on the families previous 12-month income and household size.
Documentation Needed
- Receipts of all family income for the past 12 months.
- Welfare termination letter when applicable.
- Identification of children in the household.
- Name, Address and phone number of employer.
- Days and hours of employment
- Address verification
Eligibility Guidelines
- Work less than 11 months per year for the same employer.
- Receive no TANF money.
- Have children 12 years old or younger
(If special need care is required, 18 or younger).
- Meet income requirements.
- Denial of services letter from DSHS.
