Employment and Training Introduction
The Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic and the Northwest Community Action Center are in partnership with outstanding programs such as People for People, Department of Vocational Rehab and WorkSource of Yakima.
Career Development For Adults
Together, we can provide training programs that give adults the opportunities to better themselves through work experience and gaining career development skills. Adults work one on one with case managers to establish goals and the steps necessary to achieve those goals. Participants may also participate in Job Club and Career Development classes, two programs that give job seekers the opportunity to update resumes, learn job-searching techniques, and obtain interviewing skills. The sessions also serve as a source of motivation for discouraged job seeker.
Youth Employment Services
Today’s youth do not lack the drive to achieve – they lack direction and basic skills. The Academic Youth Employment Programs assist youth people between the age of 14-21 to gain work experience that is credited toward their high school diploma or GED. Through these Programs, Youth are given the opportunity to develop skills and improve their chance to securing meaningful employment.
