We provide assistance to reduce home heating and energy costs each year. The goal of Northwest Community Actions energy program is to keep members of our community safe and warm, and to contribute to a stable home environment. We believe a household should never have to choose between heat and electricity or other necessities, such as food, health care, or shelter. Energy assistance funds enable our community members to devote their resources to other crucial expenses. Shut-off avoidance and reconnection assistance may also be available.
Our Weatherization program increases home energy efficiency, reduces energy costs, improves indoor air quality, and assists in maintaining affordable housing in the community. Services include home energy analysis; attic, crawl space and wall insulation; sealing cracks;venting crawl space and attic; heating duct insulation; water heater replacement and insulation; weather stripping and caulking; mechanical ventilation; health and safety measures, or other minor home repair.
Low income households may be eligible for emergency heating System replacement or repair. This service is available October thru June for owner occupied dwellings in homes that the existing heating system cannot heat each room to 65 degrees.
If you are currently experiencing homelessness, we may be able to help. Services available include short-term emergency hotel/motel vouchers, rapid rehousing services, housing stability planning, case management, housing search, landlord outreach,rental payments (first and last month); security and utility Deposits, and moving costs or other move in expenses.
